How to play Russian Solitaire

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Russian Solitaire. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

Notice the feedback

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Notice how the game responds to your input.

Step by step

  1. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

A useful example

A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Take a moment to compare.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
