How to play Jigsaw Sudoku

Read the aim of Jigsaw Sudoku, then make your first move. Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Read the objective before making your first input. Use the example below to understand a decision.

This collection contains 6 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Take a moment to understand the current position.

Step by step

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. Use the control method described here for this activity. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

A useful example

The coloured region, not a conventional 3×3 box, defines the third no-repeat constraint. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Keep the game’s format in mind.

Watch out for this

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Check the rule before repeating the action. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
