How to play Table Tennis

Take a moment with Table Tennis before moving to another game. Reach eleven points with a two-point lead. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Read the objective before making your first input. Use the example below to understand a decision.

rally/service model, win-by-two and alternating deuce service.

Try a deliberate move

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Reach eleven points with a two-point lead. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. The example below illustrates a decision.

Step by step

  1. Serve.
  2. Move the lower paddle under the ball.
  3. Hit after the bounce near your baseline.
  4. A missed return gives a point.

Controls

Pointer/paddle buttons; Hit / return; Space serves or hits. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

An early hit is rejected; wait while positioning the paddle. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Look for the relevant detail.

Watch out for this

The ball-flight model is timing-based, not full tournament physics. Check the rule before repeating the action. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
